Yeah, they are on the island, wearing collars and with random weapons/pot lids, but now the kids are partnered (I think boy-girl) If one dies, the others collar triggers. So, more blood, but less meat, if you know what I mean. -

Wed, June 2, 2004 - 1:48 AMI just saw BR2 at the FanimeCon last weekend. I also agree that it isn't nearly as good as the first. Although I will say it had some very brave political views and I was happy to see some continuation of BR. I think I saw a copy for sale at one of the dvd/toy stores in oakland chinatown. -

II is good, not as good. pretty bold tho no way it will get released in America with shuyas speech there. The new guy that does Takeshi's job has big shoes to fill. He does not do it. its worth a watch however,I dont think it will get its own tribe. -

Thu, July 22, 2004 - 3:15 PMi just saw Battle Royale II. it was tight imo. I couldn't understand the dialogue tho b/c it wasn't even subbed or dubbed, it was the japanese version. the ending is a little cheesy for my tastes, the rugby touchdown in particular (don't worry that doesn't spoil anything i don't think)... another downer is no Chiaki Kuriyama, but her character died in the first one, so it has to be.
homies have reccommended Ichii the Killer and Odishon so I'm gonna check those out too. -

My not liking it has nothing to do with the "anti-America" sentiment, but with the fact that it seemed to lose what made the first one so good, in exchange for splatter-gore. I men, if that $20 is REALLY burning a hole in your pocket... -

Sun, August 8, 2004 - 1:08 AMYou're unenthusiastic says it all. But actually, luckilly enough after I posted that I went to work and found out one of my coworkers actually has BRII, and I'll be borrowing it. So I get to see it for free. Awesome. So awesome.
The problem I already have with BRII is the plot. The coolest thing about BR the game is that it is a sick, twisted game. The sequal could have the SAME EXACT premise as the first one, only this time with new kids. That leads into new characters, new kills, new weapons, new reactions, new development, etc, etc. The game BR is so cool that you could just watch the whole sh-bang go down again...only with new people reacting differently. Anyone else agree? My coworker did. heh. -

I was expecting it to be under the same premise, which I guess it IS in a way.
